As I've mentioned before, in another blog post, the more native you look, the more likely it is that others will think you look foreign. But those of us of Amerindian descent were here first. It's the white Europeans who were the immigrants. I'm actually somewhat glad that my paternal grandmother isn't here to have to put up with the hassle of having to show ID. And if I were any darker complected, I'd probally really have to show proof of citizenship, beings that I am still a young adult.
